Filming Complete

We have completed all of our production filming today, everything ran smoothly and we worked really well as a group. We feel that we have captured more than enough shot's to be able to edit our film and not to have to re- film again. This will consequently save a lot of time. Due to the research and planning we have done it has enabled us to get all of our filming complete promptly and smoothly and as a result has minimised the amount of errors.
We plan on editing in teh next couple of days.
Here are a few snapshots of our filming which we completed today:

Filming

Today we plan on going out to film, we have spent a long while in preparation to make sure everything goes to plan. We have a schedule to follow which should keep the day organised. We plan on filming every seen today as all locations are local and this is one of the only days we are all available. We are filming during lesson time and then after school  to use the natural dark lighting for kidnapp to use the stereotypical dark eerie settings for bad  events, this is symbolic.

Analysing Films - Insidious

Insidious is a 2011 independent American psychological horror film. Written by Leigh Whannell and directed by James Wan, the film featured Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne, Lin Shaye, and Barbara Hershey in starring roles. The story centers on a couple whose son inexplicably enters a comatosestate and becomes a vessel for ghosts/ demons in an astral dimension. Insidious was a very successful horror movie.
The characters in insidious make the movie very scary, this is because they make it seem real, they make the viewer on edge because they are terrified of what’s haunting their son. The old women (Lin Shaye) who tries to help their son because she’s seen it before, defiantly adds the scare factor to this film, this is because she is weird in the way she works, she evidently adds to the horror genre. Also the demons that play in this film, are terrifying, some horror films like ‘Paranormal Activity’ don’t show who the ghosts and demons are, but Insidious does which makes it even more terrifying.
The sound in this horror film also makes it scary and mysterious to the viewer; sound can play a massive part in horror movies and does in Insidious. The creepy soundtrack’s build up suspense and make the viewer think something bad is going to happen. Also when the sound goes from quite to very loud instantly (for example the shout on the baby monitor) it would make the viewer jump. The diegetic sound (speech) in this film is very intriguing and frightening, when there is speech from the demons it is very scary, and also when the adults and doctors are talking it’s also frightening because they don’t know what is up with the boy. Jump scares are a typical horror film convention in ones which are psychologically scary. The lighting most defiantly plays a part in making a horror film scary. In insidious the dark scenes often make the viewer think something bad is going to happen, and because of the dark it can be unpredictable. Also when it is daylight in horror films the viewer almost feels safe, however in Insidious some of the scary and mysterious scenes happen in the light, this is good because the viewer would not be expecting it.
Overall, Insidious is a very scary and very fun haunted house thrill ride. It depends on characters, atmosphere and sneaky happenings. It has been labeled as the “Most Terrifying Film since The Exorcist", and the Exorcist was one of the most terrifying film’s of its time (1973).

What makes an action movie or any other captivating to you ?

Wordle: media
After asking our class what makes an action movie or any other movie cpativating to them, we got these certain words in response. We have made them into a wordle to be presented in a more interesting way. Asking our class benefits us as they are at the particular age of our target audience so we know our research will be solid and reliable.

Action Genre - Film Distribution Company

This company could be a possible choice that would fit our genre and would be the best option to distrubute our film.
Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. (CPII) is an American film production and distribution studio. Columbia Pictures now forms part of the Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group, owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment, a subsidiary of the Japanese conglomerate Sony. It is one of the leading film studios in the world, a member of the so-called Big Six. It was one of the so-called Little Three among the eight major film studios of Hollywood's Golden Age.
The studio, founded in 1918 as Cohn-Brandt-Cohn Film Sales by brothers Jack and Harry Cohn and Joe Brandt, released its first feature film in August 1922. It adopted the Columbia Pictures name in 1924 and went public two years later. The name is derived from "Columbia", a national personification of the United States, which is used as the company's logo.
In its early years a minor player in Hollywood, Columbia began to grow in the late 1920s, spurred by a successful association with director Frank Capra.

Here are a list of films that columbia production company have distrubuted over this year alone. they have distrubuted almost thousands of films over the years starting in 1930.

Production Analysis

The production part in media is the actual making and filming of the film. This is when the film has been given the go ahead and they can get deep into and concentrate purely on filming of the film. However it’s not this simple, there are in fact many different stages of production and different things to consider. It all begins with the producer, he gets everything together and organised, for example the cast, the idea, the development and the crew. Then in order to film the idea and the script must be good! then the package, this is where the screen play needs to be written, need to sort out the budget. Attracting investment this is where the producer meets other producers across the world, this is essential because without the investment the film will not be made. The planning is very important, they should make sure time is kept for the harder and longer scenes when shooting. Also the budget is very important, this is based on the investment and when they have this they need to draw up a financial plan showing how they are going to pay for everything. Above and below the line costs, above the line is the script, screen play, actors, producer, director and below the line is the designers. They also need to consider their audience so they need to consider the location and who will want to see the film. Finally the marketing, this costs more than making the film, they need to find a gap in the market for their film.

Horizontal Integration

A horizontal integrated company owns or has shares in lots of different companies and these companies can be used to produce, market and supply products. For example a film can be purchased as a feature at the cinema, rented on DVD, purchased as a download and finally purchased as a DVD.

Vertical Intergration

Vertical integration is when a company oversees the planning and creation of a product, through to the marketing, advertising and distribution and then on to the retail of the product to the public. A company which is vertically integrated has control over all the stages of a products life. In media this means they have control of three processes; production, this includes writing, planning and the creation of the product. Distribution, taking the finished product to the retailer and marketing the product. Finally exhibition, the point at which the product is sold to the consumer.

Synergy

Synergy is the process through which media products derived from the same text are promoted in and through each other and throughout the subsidiaries of a media conglomerate. Synergy is closely linked to convergence as the coming together of the separate companies associated with different technologies within a conglomerate allow for synergy to happen. Synergy works on two levels; the main text is promoted using the many subsidiaries of the conglomerate, and the individual products used to advertise the main text are linked to each other.

Convergence

Convergence is the term used to describe how technology has been brought together,  previously separate media channels. For example, a mobile phone and a camera work independently from one another but since early 2000's the two technologies have converged and most mobile phones now include a camera. In the film industry digital recording and distribution methods mean that previously separate forms can be bought together or converged. The digital content produced during film making is compatible with other digital media so can be used on websites or in games. Convergence is just the coming together or merging of two things.

Possible Target Audience

After doing research on possible target audience for our genre, we have slowly built up a target audience profile, this will enable us to know, who we are aiming at and what they would be interested in. Being in the particular age group and gender our selves we know that young males are the typical audience for these types of films. This has made it easier for us to research and understand what they are interested in. We know that the genre is extremley popular with young males between the ages of 16-24. We know that males are more tolerant and express more enjoyment when watching violence and action, this makes them the best audience for our piece.
This is an example of our target audience:

These are some of the covers of action movies released previously which were very successful. All have dark imagery and weapons, they all have a mysterious look to them.

Analysing Film - Taken

This is a famous action film called Taken, it is popular because of its constant drama and action. I am going to be analysing its mis-en-scene and the techniques it may use to portray its genre. This will guide us in the right direction as to what we would try to encorporate into our film. This is a trailer and not a film opening but still consists of scenes from the movie which include alot of action and drama. Most of the scenes when action and crimes occur are in a dark and mysterious lighting which makes it more anxious for the viewer as to what will occur. The start is in a brighter light, this is because there is no drama but just innocence from the young girls. The music allows the tention to build up so you know something bad may happen, creating the typical action image. The movie contains a kidnapp, this is great for us as we plan on using one in our film opening, the girl witness's a kidnapp first and is scared, the men are in dark outfits and we barley see them to add mystery. The girl then gets kidanpped, there is alot of noise and screaming at this point. We plan on using a kidnapp in a similar way, the criminals will be in balaclavas and dark clothes. The music in teh background gets intense and adds suspense in certain situations. Also the use of quick snap shots gets used adding pace and drama and keeping the audience on edge.  A gun gets used later on in the film this is a key piece in most action films, its a weapon which shows criminality and action. Fighting occurs through out, keeps the film intense and interesting and is stereoitypical feature in action films.

Story Board

We have decided to now make a story board now we have all of the information we need, this is on eof the final steps before going out to film. It is not a very well drawn story board, but we know from the writing and the shotlist wht we need to do and in what order. The picture contains just the first 8 scenes of the storyboard.

Scripting

Adding to our preperation before heading out to film, we have created a script which the actors will learn beforehand. There is not much dialogue in our film opening, just enough to let the audience know the vital storyline. We have labelled it in different scenes which is based from our storyboard, this means it will be clearer and easier when going out to film, what needs to be said. In some parts of the script we have also included directions as to how the the speech is suppose to be said, this will keep the acting in each scene as to how we imagined it to be. We have made scripts like this one for the whole film opening.

Shot list

This is a picture of a section of our shotlist. We have made this before we film so we can go out and film accuratley and in order so we know what we are doing, this will save time and will minimise mistakes. This will also be quick to film as will have seperated the shotlist for different locations, that way we wont need to keep travelling back to locations to film other bits. The shotlist contains different areas, number of scene to show the order, the shot titale so we know roughly what it is about and the overal description to show what will exactly be going on in the shot. Also we have included an elements section this includes the vital elements that will be encorporated into the shot aswell as some of the camera shots we feel will work well. Following this we plan on making a story board to show the different scenes in picture and how the story will flow.

Email to confirm location

This is a print screen of the email we sent to the local business Olympus House to allow us to film on their property, we emailed last week. We also have informaed our local police station about the kidnapping and the prented gun being used, having explained that it is for educational purposes. They swiftly agreed and gave us the heads up to crack on with our filming. They are now alert what is going on and in what locations in case anybody from the public those see and feel threatened in any way.

Sound

It has come to our attention that the audio is going o play a very important role in our film opening. It will be used to craete an emotion in a certain scene and to introduce the genre at the start. We will switch between digetic and non-digetic sound. The digetic sound will be mainly when the dialogue occurs, although we are considering have very quiet intense music playing in the background, this will constantly add tention and build up to the main plot.
The intense music we plan to add wil be fast paced to match the action and drama and style of the shots which are short and snappy. The music we plan to use will also be eery and will create a sense of mystery and feel the audience with the emotion of anxiousness we would like them to feel to emjoy our film. Doing some research we have found a particular artist with some certain songs we are taking in to consideration to use. These songs have previously been used in famous action movies such as 'inception' so we feel they will be perfect for our film.
We plan on emailing the production company to see if we have permission to use them, evidence of this will be published in due course.
A couple of examples of the audio are below:

Analysing Films - Vantage Point

In this trailer we can see how the camera flicks into different points of view showing you the whole where abouts, and the main characters in the film. It introduces by opening with an establishing wide shot settimg the scene to allow the veiwer to see, whats roughly going on and where. The lighting seems to be quite bright this is maybe to allow you to see it is a happy environment and a good event is taking place. It then introduces you to the characters which seem to be the bodyguards which give you the impression something bad is going to happen as their role is to protect against bad people,  it focuses on them alot and their suspicious looking faces. We then get to see faces of some members of the public seeing there faces we can establish for ourselves what we make of them and how we label them before we actually understand whats going on. Suddenley the president gets penitrated into the chest and we realise he has been shot as he calapses slowly to the ground. We don't know where the bullet comes from. This adds mystery and suspense this huge impact of what has happened keeps viewers on edge for what is going to tak eplace next. The whole of this is very fast paced and quick snappy shots, exactly what we would like to include in our film opening as it seems to be a recurring theme in all action movies so we see it as an important feature we should most deffinatley incorporate whilst filming. The us of guns and violence also again occurs another stereotypical symbol in an action movie. The music playing over the top of the video is very intense as it has a slow but built up beat, makes it feel as htough it is leading to something big.

Created a Youtube Channel

This is a print screen of our Lunatic productions youtube channel, we have uploaded our Preliminary Excerise on to it this is gain feedback from others and members of the public of their views on what they think went well and what did not as much. This will help us achieve a well filmed and put together final product and will help us improve our skills. We will use the feedback given to the best of our ability and will take all comments into further consideration when filming our final piece. The youtube channel is created for all of us in the group to have access to if we need to upload or reply to any new comments.

Risk Assesment

Carrying out a risk assessment helps us determine any risks not just to us but the community and other students and to eliminate these aswell as we can and to prevent any from happening to the best of our abilities.
Assesing the situation of our production and what we would like to achieve and carry out we have analysed and made these decisions.
We have made sure that whilst in our car scene we are not exceeding speed limits and instead will just edit it to make it look like we are going faster.  Also we are making the kidnapping as real as possible so any members of the public will be informed that its a educational video before hand so they do not feel threatened or even alramed enough to inform the local authority. It has been brought to my attention that we need to ask permission of the land owners to film on there property and therefore will be drafting a letter to them and will be posting it on here as soon as we are able. These letters will mainly be going to the Olympus House which is a local company which we plan to film out side and the view of their building.
Also because we are using a fake gun the local police have to be informed this is for the saftey of other residents in the local area which may see this and belive they are in danger.
Aswell as all of this we realise they we could be putting our own selves in danger whilst filming, we will make sure tht the knife is always kept in safe places and we concentrate and film small parts at a time so it eliminates the chances of accidents and mistakes ever occuring.
Our detailed plans should also help with all of this.

Main Props

We have managed to gather together a number of vital props we feel will be important and will add to the genre of an action film. These all are usually seen in action movies so we thought that they were the most important props to include in ours to try and portray teh genre aswell as we could.

The fake blood capsules we have purchased are goind to be used in the interrogation scene to make the attacked look more realistic.

The balaclavas are a typical prop used in a criminal attack, so we thought they would be nessescary when carrying out the cirme of the kidnap.

The Duct Tape is used to retain John Peters in the interrogation room.
The pen knife is a weapon used by John as he escapes his way out of the duc tape
The car is used for the kidnap and is most probably the most important prop as allows the kidnap to take place and for them to get away.

The gun we are using is very realistic and will be used to threaten John, again a prop in lmost every action film so an important thing for us to include.

Main Project Outline

Title
Mistaken Identity - We feel as though this is a great title for our film as the guy who is kidnapped has been mistaken for someone else, as he is innocent, or is he ?

Plot/Outline Summary
Two men work at the same office, John Peters and Danny Stevens, we seem them both take phone calls at the start from this we tell that John is your normal man waiting to go home after the mail is handed out. As for Danny, he acts suspicous taking his phone call outside, we realise he is up to something when he speaks privatley and by his conversation on the phone.
Both men bump into eachother on the way out and accidently switch packages. When Danny walks out of work and meets his boss in the car park he finds out it is not his package and that the other package with 50 thousand pounds worth of drugs is in Johns Hands. His Boss 'Steven Graham' gets annoyed and plans an action to get the drugs back. Later that evening John is almost home but unfortunatley he gets kidnapped by the two men, loading him in the boot they head off quickly in their get away vehicle. Unfortunatley leaving Johns bag which he dropped and the drugs behind.
In the next scene we see them interrogating John in a dark room he gts beaten up and threatend at gun point, still denying any inolvement  with the drugs. The question who he works for and believe he has done this on purpose.
We then see John slip a small knife from up his sleeve and relieve his hands form tape on the chair he is attached to. Danny has no clue of this. John knocks the gun out of his hand and smacks it across the room, the scene goes black and a gun shot is let off, but who is killed? and is John really innocent?

Opening Sequence
We start the whole film with subtitles showing the directors and actors with intense music in the background which gives the viewer and incline of what type of movie they expect. We then introduce the characters by both main characters, Danny and John answer a phone simoltaniously, their converstaions tell you abit about each charcater. The first shot is a close up of a phone and a match on action followed by the same but with Dannys mobile. This keeps people wondering what is happening.

Characters (genre, role, image etc)
The main character John Peters is played by Adam Lomas, he is an innocent and friendly looking guy, who is dressed smartly. We wanted him o look this way as we want people to establish he is going to be the victim and the innocent one in this straight away. A innocent victime is always a stereotypical character you will find in most action movies getting caught up in the drama so we thought it would be important to include this role in ours.

The bad guy also a main character is Danny Stevens, played by Dominic Clarke, he is part of the drug deal and works at the same office as John. He seems suspicious to the audience in the way he acts as his role is suppose to be someone you cant trust and a bad person.

The other main character is Steven Graham, played by Bradley Roche, dressed in a suit and Shades it shows is importance and dominance over Danny. He is represented as the big, tough guy and leader especially when we see danny calling him boss. This character is typical of what you will find in an action movie as their is always a leader, someone callin all the shots.

The next character is less important, he is a mail boy in the workplace, played by Roberto Pinto. He stars in the small section handing out the vital mail that they all desperatley want, mainly Danny. Dress casually smart he represnts the charcater and role well.

Mis-en-scene
The workplace will be filmed inside the school during the day time, it is down a quite corrider which resembles your usual office workplace. We use an office phone and computer to make it seem realistic and to keep the theme clear to people. The kidnapp will be filmed at dusk as it adds supcious and eery feel to the footage. Darkness always represnts bad things.

Settings
Dark garage
Outside in quiet area
Office
School office workplace
Car

Locations
School interior for office workplace shots, this is easy to acces and ideal appearance.
A local quite resdiential street for kidnapping to show John is head home.
A local business 'Olympus House' this will the workplace exterior for when both men walk out of work to make it seem more realistic.
Dom's car will be used as the get away car and interior shots will be vital.
Bradleys garage will be used for the interrogation scene as it seems dark and eery.

Costumes
Danny and JOhn will both be wearing shirts and ties to show that they are both at work, John looks very representable to show he is the kind and innocent charcater.
Steven Graham the head gangster will be wearing a full suit and sunglasses. this shows his power instantly as it is a stereotypical symbol for power and leadership.

Props
A prentend Gun, this is vital to show power and violence, included in almost every action movie.
Fake Drugs, these are use to look realistic and will play a part to allow the viewers to understand the plot.
Telephone in office
Mobile phone
Letters
Johns bag
Fake blood
Balaclavas
Car
Duc tape
Knife

Recce Shots

Today we went around school and our local area taking recci shots of potential areas and propse we are going to use to create our film opening. Thesewould then create an image of we could expect the film to look like and if they are the right option.
This is a room within the school we are considering using it as an office and a workplace for Danyy and John. We feel with a bit of reorgansing it could look ideal for an office environment and will match exactly what we are after. Especially with all of the computers and desks.

This will be our get away vehicle for the kidnap and the car the drug dealers own. It is teh only car we have access to but will be a vitle prop in the film. The back of the car will important as it will be shown when the kidnap takes place and when the car gets away. With the dark tinited windows it adds mystery and crime.

This is inside the boot where we will put John Peters the victim.

We plan on shooting inside the car when the two drug dealers will talk to one another.
This is where we plan doing the kidnap it is a local area down a side street, close by a bus stop where we will make it seem as though John has just got off.
These are the pretend drugs we have created from cling film, duc tape, flour and paracetemol, we will see danny reveal these in the footage.
This is a hall way in school we plan on using it as a hall way in the office work place this is where the swap of the parcels take place, we feel it looks professional and like how we invisioned.
This is the exact spot we plan on filming the kidnap. It is a quite area so we should have no problem filming here, we plan on filming it at dusk so it will seem more intense. It is also near a residential area so we know Danny is on his way home.
This is a road up to the scene of the kidnap, we are considering using these as footage when driving to show the fast pace and rush of action to create drama.
This is the front of the get way vehicle

Copy right infringment acts

Copyright infringement is the unauthorized use of works under copyright, infringing the copyright holder's exclusive rights, such as the right to reproduce, distribute, display or perform the copyrighted work, spread the information contained within copyrighted works, or to make derivative works. It often refers to copying intellectual property without written permission from the copyright holder, which is typically a publisher or other business representing or assigned by the work's creator.
When we have finished our final film opening we have to make sure that we either have permission to use certian songs or have at least informed the owner of the song that we are going to use it and that if we dont hear from you we will presume that its ok to use it.

An advertisement for copyright and patent preparation services from 1906, when copyright registration formalities were still required in the US

Analysing Films - The Dark Knight

This is the film opening to the dark night. This opening consists of stereo typical things you may expect from an action movie. The first opening logo of the warner bros matches the trype of film as it is blue and black and smokey which symbolises batman and makes it recognisable. This allows people to relaise what type of movie it is before it begins, you can expect this from most movies. It jumps straight into to action as they break into the bank, the action involves violence and aggression with weapons, such as guns. This is typical from action movies and keeps people inetrested, we can determine they are bad guys straight away by the things they do. We know that it is an action movie by the quick paced shots and the quick movements and fights which occur. They use the clown masks cleverly as they are suppose to be a scary image as they are usually used in that way and are seen as a scary image. Everything happens quickly and is very packed full of action which shows the genre very well. The ending scene of the bus smashing through the window and knocking over the robber is another typical shot for an actiuon movie it is a big imapct and is usually in most of action movies to cause suspense. This is a great cliff hanger to start the film on and allows the audience to continue to watch. The glass smashing infuses the act and adds drama.

Our Production Name and Logo

The production company may be directly responsible for fundraising for the production or may accomplish this through a parent company, partner, or private investor. It handles budgeting, scheduling, scripting, the supply with talent and resources, the organization of staff, the production itself, post-production, distribution, and marketing. Production companies are often either owned or under contract with a media conglomerate, film studio, entertainment company, or Motion Picture Company, who act as the production company's partner or parent company. This has become known as the "studio system". They can also be mainstream independent (see Lucasfilms) or completely independent (see Lionsgate). In the case of TV, a TV production company would serve under a television network. Production companies can work together in co-productions.
This is our logo and name we have come up with, we designed it last year and have decided to use it again as we all liked it. The name lunatic revolves around action and drama which represents our action film opening. The graffiti writing matches the name with lunatic as it looks out of control and crazy.

Analysing Films - Watchmen opening scene

This is the opening scene for the film Watchmen. It is a typical action film and involves many typical and stereotypical themes you may find in many action movies. One of these is the lighting it is filmed in a dark light this creates mystery and suspense, we will try and include this in ours. Their is also a main fight scene including a gun, which is a very important prop this shows crime and action aswell as violence all which are usually included in action films. We plan to use both fights and guns in our film. The fight adds drama and tension to the viewer as they want to know what is going to be the final outcome. The different shots are snappy and quick making the pace fast and intense this makes it on-edge for the viewer and keeps them wanting to watch, rather than it dragging out slowly which is not very entertaining and would not match the action for this genre. We will try to incorporate this into our film opening.

Mood Board

This is a mood board I have created revolving around action and thriller movie genre as it is what we have now selected. Some of the pictures are scenes from famous movies we are going to use to guide our idea aswell as some of the props.

Final Idea

We have finalised our idea, on the basis of the all of the feedback and our own opinion we have come to the conclusion that our first idea we presented, which involved the kidnap would be the best one to go with.
We are now going to start planning to make this idea achievable in how we imagine it to be.
We will research and plan well revolving the idea.

Idea response from class

After gathering all of the feedback we have decided that Idea 1 will be our best option and is by far our strongest. We have lots of further ideas we are going to contribute to improve on the breif idea. This was the response from our class mates when we presented our intial ideas, here is some of teh questions they asked and answers we gave along with their overall feedback:

Idea 1:
(Q) Dom: "How is the man going to get hold of the drugs?"
(A): "He is going to be working in the same building as this drug dealer/gangster, the drugs get mixed up as they both have similar packages and everything gets muddled when the postboy delivers the mail. They both have no time to check the name on the front as they both want to get home"

(Q)Ben: "Where is the kidnap going to take place?"
(A): "The kidnap will be down a narrow path near nightime whilst nobody is aorund it will be quick and realistic as the capture him from behind"

(Q) James: "How will you insure you adapt the action genre throughout the film?"
(A) "We will do this as we are going to have fast paced snappy shots making it seem fast and intising to the viewer. We are going to add music when the kidnappers are in the car driving to the man and when they kidnap him. There will be intense music playing through. The fast car iss symbolic of an action film as is the gun, violence and chase."

- "this idea is strong and seems well planned"
- "the drug mix up may need to planned a little better to be more realistic but apart from that if everything is planned well it sounds like a very good idea"

Idea 2:
(Q) Lauren: "What is the plot for the car chase?"
(A) "being one of our weaker ideas we have not yet established how we are going to show the plot but it will be obvious they are chasing them for a reason and wnat to harm them as they reveal a gun"

(Q) Dom: "Where will you do this car chase, without causing any harm?"
(A) "we plan on doing the car chase on a parkway at dusk keeping an eery feel. We will do it at a time when the roads are almost empty, we will not be driving and no more than the speed limits this shouldnt be an issue and will still look fast on camera."

(Q) Curtis: "What will happen when the car chase is over?"
(A) "we will pull into a secure empty area near a field and get out of the car, one man will say to the other 'that was way to close'. Both will then walk into the bush and bury something"

- "this idea seems less achievable than the first but still has the main aspects of the genre of an action film"
- "the best part of this film will be the ending as it leaves the audience with suspense, the car chase may not look as good as you expect as you havent got the camera technologies and your first idea certainly seems the strongest."

Idea 3
(Q) Ben: "Where and when will you film the mugging?"
(A) "we will film it down a long narrown path where there is hardly anybody about as it is surround by fields, it is local so easy to get to. It will be filmed at dusk which will create a scarier feel"

(Q) Curtis: "how do you plan on filming the chase?"
(A) "We plan on using track shots for parts of it, but mainly panning shots as the camera looks from a distance, again we will keep the shots very short and snappy to keep up the pace of the movement, allowing the viewer to be part of the chase. ANother way we can keep it fast paced is by using a variety of shots, close-ups and extreme close ups and establishing, also the angles changing this will keep the viewer interested."

(Q) Lauren: "is there going to be any dialogue?"
(A) "we dont plan on including alot in this idea as we think it doesnt need much to make sense especially when its so fast paced we dont think it will fit in much. There will be some shouting form the woman and pedestrains, but the main sounds will be the panting from the running of the mugger to feel we are running with him. At the end we plan on the mugger saying 'Finally' whilst look at the usb, it will then cut black"

- "This also one of your best ideas with one and out weighs idea two. The storyline seems easy to follow but very effective"
- "This seems like a very strong idea and has a good story line and good ideas about the filming of it. But I feel it might be quite short so you may have to film more detail at the start. Having said that I feel Idea one is your strongest and best option"

Initial Ideas

These ideas are going to get presented to our class, we will take notes on feedback and constructive critiscm, this will help us progress in making the right decision and making nesscary changes and improvements. All of these breif ideas are revolving action genre as that is what we have decided on.

Analysis for timeline

This is an analysis of the film opening 'Casino Royale' (an action movie) I have analysed it and taken note of when all of the times when titles enter the screen and in which order. This will our group an idea of how long to leave between each title and when to put each role e.g. Director, producer etc. Making our film more professional and well put together.

Research and results for genre

After selecting  number of different genres we then created a small tick box option for our media class they selected which genre of film they would like to see us do or which one they prefer. From the results shown in the graph we have discovered that Action and Horror were the most popular. Due to these results we have decided as a group we will persue Action as our genre. We will research into different action movies and anlyse what codes and conventions we may need to include into ours to make it fit in to this specific genre. We will soon start to develop different ideas between us as to what type of film opnening we now plan on doing.

Our Catergories

Suitable for all
It is impossible to predict what might upset any particular child. But a ‘U’ film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over. ‘U’ films should be set within a positive moral framework and should offer reassuring counterbalances to any violence, threat or horror.
If a work is particularly suitable for a pre-school child to view alone, this will be indicated in the Consumer Advice.

Parental Guidance
General viewing, but some scenes may be unsuitable for young children.
Unaccompanied children of any age may watch. A ‘PG’ film should not disturb a child aged around eight or older. However, parents are advised to consider whether the content may upset younger or more sensitive children.

Suitable for 12 years and over

Exactly the same criteria are used to classify works at ‘12A’ and ‘12’. These categories are awarded where the material is suitable, in general, only for those aged 12 and over. Works classified at these categories may upset children under 12 or contain material which many parents will find unsuitable for them.
The ‘12A’ category exists only for cinema films. No one younger than 12 may see a ‘12A’ film in a cinema unless accompanied by an adult, and films classified ‘12A’ are not recommended for a child below 12. An adult may take a younger child if, in their judgement, the film is suitable for that particular child. In such circumstances, responsibility for allowing a child under 12 to view lies with the accompanying adult.
The ‘12’ category exists only for video works. No one younger than 12 may rent or buy a ‘12’ rated video work.

Suitable only for 15 years or over

No-one younger than 15 may see a ‘15’ film in a cinema. No-one younger than 15 may rent or buy a ‘15’ rated video work.

Suitable only for adults
No-one younger than 18 may see an ‘18’ film in a cinema. No-one younger than 18 may rent or buy an ‘18’ rated video work.

To be shown only in specially licensed cinemas, or supplied only in licensed sex shops, and to adults of not less than 18 years.

The ‘R18’ category is a special and legally restricted classification primarily for explicit works of consenting sex or strong fetish material involving adults. Films may only be shown to adults in specially licensed cinemas, and video works may be supplied to adults only in licensed sex shops. ‘R18’ videos may not be supplied by mail order.
